David Drew (Principal)
David brings a wealth of industry knowledge and intellectual property experience as a Patent & Trade Mark Attorney. David started his career as a polymer chemist servicing the automotive industry and later joined Sandercock, Smith & Beadle in 1981, where he commenced his training.
David qualified at Davies Collison Cave and became a Fellow of the institute of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys, subsequently going on to become a partner and manager of the Melbourne office of Tatlocks Chrysiliou IP for 10 years. David has now come full circle to become principal of the firm proudly bearing the Sandercock name.

Sandercock & Cowie also have experienced trade mark attorneys. David has prosecuted high end cases for UGG Australia and SUPACAT (v Caterpillar). His excellent advice on branding reflects his experience and innovative approach in the trade mark arena. He has also managed complex design cases before the Designs Office up to hearing level and in Federal Court actions, and has sound expertise in protecting the shape and appearance of products through the design registration systems.
